Extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 large cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper, to taste
2 large cans San Marzano tomato puree
1 small can tomato paste
2 tsp oregano
4 tsp parsley
Saute garlic and onion in the olive oil, adding salt and pepper to taste. Saute until fragrant and until the onion is slightly opaque. Add all cans of tomatoes and paste, and the herbs. Simmer for 2 hours or more! Just make sure you check the seasoning before you serve it, mine needed more salt!
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 Egg
4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
8 tablespoons Parsley (fresh, or 2 tablespoons dry)
1 Garlic clove
2 tablespoons Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1/4 tsp Oregano
1/4 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Pepper (freshly cracked)
2 tablespoons Olive oil
Mix all ingredients--except the olive oil--in a large bowl. Form meat into meatballs (I made medium-small ones and this recipe yielded 16 for me). Add olive oil to a medium heat pan. Brown all sides of meatballs, then add to the sauce and cook for up to 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
Serve with spaghetti, and a healthy dash of Parmesan cheese! Enjoy!
